The program coordinator Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria, Gombe state, Mrs Bathsheba Jonah Kalah disclosed this at a launch of android phone distributed to Heads of Primary Healthcare Centers in Gombe and Akko local Governments in Gombe.
She added that women are voiceless and there are high rapes case reports in Gombe hence the need for religious and traditional leaders address the menace.
Mrs Bathsheba said the android phones distributed have applications installed on them to be used in reporting gender based violence for prompt responses.
The Planned Parenthood Federation of Nigeria, PPFN coordinator said the organisation working in the state since its creation also work in addressing maternal mortality rate.
Mrs Bathsheba Kallah said the organization in addressing the issue also distributed Dignity kits, which include blankets, wrappers, mats and sanitary pads among others to 480 women across the two local governments and it also provides delivery kits to less privileged women.
She added that gesture also encourage pregnant women to go for antenatal.
In their separate remarks, some of the heads of the Primary health care centers Maryam Guruza and Muhammad Umar Lawanti commended the PPFN for initiating such project.
They also said the organization also trained them on gender based violence and assured to the job diligently.
