The Kano state government has approved the employment of 60 Qur’anic teachers (Alarammas) as facilitators for the 15 Almajiri Integrated Schools in the state with immediate effect.
The State Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje gave the approval on Monday.
The governor’s approval followed a correspondence submitted by the State Qur’anic & Islamiyya Schools Management Board through the Commissioner of Education Mal. Muhammad Sanusi S. Kiru.
Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje said the employment further demonstrate his administration genuine commitment to eradicating street begging.
Ganduje said the schools are provided with basic facilities such as toilets, dormitories and an integrated Curriculum that would enable the Almajiri pupils to memorise the Holy Qur’an and get basic education requirements in a decent and secured environment.
